The Los Angeles Conservancy
The Los Angeles Conservancy is a nonprofit organization that uses education and advocacy to recognize, preserve, and revitalize the historic architectural and cultural resources of Los Angeles County. The organization needed to replace its aged website with one that was ready for the modern web and integrated with a new CRM system. It also needed a website with integrated mapping features that looked great on mobile devices for on-the-ground use. The organization wanted to manage and book their walking tours and other events directly through the website, and to create project-specific microsites.
ThinkShout worked collaboratively with outside designers and Salesforce CRM consultants chosen by the Los Angeles Conservancy, which integrated their work into a beautiful and modern responsive website with custom-built solutions:
- ThinkShout led mobile-first wireframe development of a responsive design (which ensured design team kept mobile in mind).
- MapBox and Leaflet tools with custom intelligence for integrated mapping throughout, inclusive of proximity searching and adaptive map layouts.
- Implementation of the Panelizer toolkit as both a simple page-layout tool for website managers and as a framework for easy creation of project “microsites”.
- Commerce, registration, and salesforce tools integrated with the website to allow paid event registrations online and real-time synchronization of registration data with salesforce.
The end result was a beautiful Drupal website that was accessible and easy to use both in the browser and on mobile devices. The Los Angeles Conservancy staff were introduced to a user-friendly back end that allowed for manageable updates and a wealth of editable content. Robust microsites put the spotlight on the historic destinations they sought to preserve, encouraging social media engagement and event registration through ease of use and vibrant imagery.
